Who this policy covers
This policy applies to the NewToAU iOS app. It explains how the app handles information when you use its guides, search, saved items and checklists.
Data we do not collect
NewToAU does not require an account and does not ask you to submit your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, payment information, identity documents or precise location. The app does not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, contacts, photos, health records or financial account information.
Information stored on your device
To remember your choices and provide personalised content, NewToAU stores the following information locally on your device:
- Your selected state or territory, visa or residency category, and app language
- Checklist completion and update times
- Saved guides and recent search history
- Whether you have acknowledged the in-app disclaimer
This information is not sent to NewToAU or used to identify you.
Retention, deletion and your choices
Local information remains on your device until you remove it. In NewToAU Settings, you can clear checklist progress and reset your preferences. You can remove all NewToAU data by deleting the app from your device. Because NewToAU does not operate user accounts or receive this local data, there is no server-side user profile for us to access, export or delete.
Tracking, advertising and third-party SDKs
NewToAU does not track you across apps or websites, does not serve advertising and does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
External websites
NewToAU contains links to Australian government agencies and other authoritative organisations. These links open outside the app. Once you choose to visit another website, that organisation's terms and privacy practices apply. NewToAU does not control those websites.
Children's privacy
NewToAU is a general-audience information app and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
NewToAU minimises privacy risk by not collecting personal data and by keeping preferences and progress on the device. You are responsible for protecting access to your device and Apple account.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. We will publish the revised policy here and update the effective date. Material changes will also be reflected in the app or its App Store information where appropriate.
